Are you new to CrossFit or a long-time fan? Or are you simply awestruck by these fit individuals that follow this rigorous training regimen? The box awaits your response.

So, to keep you motivated, here are ten of the best CrossFit movies.

Table of Contents

1. Resurgence

During the COVID era, the CrossFit establishment tried to plan an in-person event. In a new competition format, the large field of participants was reduced to only five men and five women. Fittest on Earth was a competition held on a small ranch in California.

The pandemic robbed us of every social activity that shaped our lives, including sports. “Resurgence” follows five men and women competing in a new CrossFit tournament format.

Why is Resurgence one of my favorites?

This film particularly appealed to me since it emphasized our ability as humans to overcome adversity. You will get inspired to work out after watching the CrossFit Games film and listening to the slightly over-the-top music accompanying each event. There is a lot to learn from watching how athletes approach each event and the behind-the-scenes footage.

This film is amazing, with the athletes’ determination inspiring anyone. This is a must-see for CrossFit enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

2. The Fittest

During the 2019 CrossFit Games, the world’s fittest competitors took on an unknown set of challenges to prove themselves. The arrival of a group of chiseled athletes in Madison, Wisconsin, is depicted in this dramatic video. Only 10 men and ten women move on to the following round to see the fittest. The fittest on the planet are ushered into the pantheon of CrossFit giants.

Why is The Fittest one of my favorites?

As far as Buttery Bros. films go, I felt this was a good one. Watching Pat Vellner shed tears when you thought he couldn’t possibly shed any more tears is like a cruel joke on you. He’s a competitor at heart. This film reveals sensitive human nature, and I appreciate that.

Key take-aways from The Fittest

Everything but your performance should be blamed when things don’t go according to plan. Not a popular strategy but an important point made in this movie.

3. Froning: The fittest man alive

In a relatively particular genre, this documentary by Heber Cannon is among the most fascinating installments, mostly because it adopts a more traditional framework than most of the others. The video follows Rich Froning Jr., a CrossFit hero who is on a mission to win his fourth CrossFit Games championship in a row.   It’s a very conventional biography, tracking this sportsman throughout his journey and delving into the motivations that motivate him to maintain such a tough and grueling exercise regime.

This biopic is fantastic. We get to watch a champion’s youth, his quest for a fourth CrossFit Games title, and his transformation from a son, a husband, and a new father. This is a truly inspirational film, in my opinion.

It was released in March 2018.

This was a film that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was particularly noteworthy that they addressed the doping controversy, considering it was a very charged topic at the time. This documentary is well worth your time if you are a CrossFit enthusiast who enjoys supporting exceptional athletes.

It demonstrates how Salo arrived in Aromas and used a combination of power, stamina, and endurance to win the championship.

In this film, the protagonist, Salo, has a humble yet strong personality, which I find endearing. The fact that he does not lie down on his back to rest after completing a chest-to-bar segment demonstrates his fighting spirit and determination. This was hands down my best CrossFit film to date.

In Finland, Sisu means stoic courage and unflinching tenacity in the face of adversity. It allows a person to silently set his will to finish one more rep before dropping the barbell. It enables a man to climb a hill while his body refuses. This movie depicted it perfectly.
